The company that provides the hosting service is called a hosting provider.

The principle of operation

When a user visits a website, a chain of events occurs, with hosting at its center:

  1. The user enters the website address in the browser bar.
  2. The browser accesses the Domain Name System (DNS) to use the domain name to find the IP address of the server where the site is located.
  3. After receiving the IP address, the browser sends a request to this server.
  4. The hosting provider’s server finds all the necessary site files (code, texts, images) and sends them in response to a browser request.
  5. The browser receives these files, collects a web page from them and shows it to the user.

This whole process is possible because the hosting provider’s server is constantly connected to the network and works 24/7.
